Johnstone’s Trade has been selected as the new paint supplier for Pickering & Ferens Homes – a registered housing association and charity providing high quality housing for people over the age of 60. As part of a seven-year maintenance programme, 1300 properties will be renovated, including five sheltered schemes, seven pop-in centres and two community rooms.

Johnstone’s Trade flame retardant Acrylic Eggshell paint will feature throughout fire escapes in the properties to ensure the spaces comply with regulations and ensure the safety of all occupants. Throughout communal areas, Johnstone’s Trade Acrylic Durable Matt will also be used to withstand increased wear and tear.

Finally, Johnstone’s Woodworks Quick Dry Opaque will be applied to the windows, fascia and outdoor seating, while Stormshield Flexible Stain has been chosen for both soffits and utility boxes.

In addition to supplying materials, Johnstone’s Trade Colour Consultants have supported the project by helping determine colour schemes, while Specification Managers have provided technical advice to ensure the correct specialists paints will be used throughout.

Impressed by the expertise and products provided by Johnstone’s Trade, Pickering & Ferens Homes plan to work closely with Johnstone’s Trade over coming months to develop further specifications and colour choices, in consultation with residents.
