Johnstone’s Trade has recently supported the launch of a ‘film night series’, hosted by the Liverpool Architectural Society. The first ever event was held at FACT in Liverpool on the 14th July.
The Liverpool Architectural Society is one of the oldest architectural societies in the world, with most of its members being chartered architects, as well as welcoming people that have an interest in architecture. Throughout the year the society organises lectures, seminars and visits to local buildings for its members.
The film night series present contemporary culture and architecture related media, not available throughout mainstream cinemas.
Maria Killick, President of the Liverpool Architectural Society found the event a great success, commenting: “Thank you to PPG for sponsoring the first ever film night held by the Liverpool Architectural Society. The film chosen was Le Mempris (Contempt) from 1963 and produced by Jean Luc-Goddard which proved to be very interesting and thought provoking film for many and highlighted the architecturally intriguing building Casa Malaparte on the island of Capri.
“The evening was a resounding success with all tickets being sold well in advance and we look forward to future events which we hope will be as enjoyable as this one.”
